As usual, it was great to see everyone this weekend. Thank you for allowing us to take your pictures. Without you guys, we wouldn't be here!

It's closing in on 10pm here Sunday night, I'm pretty exhausted. I'm guessing photos will start going online tomorrow sometime. I'll post an update with a link when they do.

Regards,
Junior

Howdy All,

I just got home from Otakon - I had a good time, but I'm exhausted. I've got some serious work to do on getting the pictures online. I've got ~5,000 to sort through! So, please be patient while I work to get them online.

I'll post updates as things progress.

Thanks!

Regards,
Junior

p.s. good to see everyone!

All good things must come to an end, and Anime Mid-Atlantic 2009 just ended.  I'll begin working and uploading the photos hopefully tonight after Lou and I get back from dinner.

It was nice seeing old friends and making a few new ones too.

Thanks to everyone that posed! We wouldn't be here if it weren't for you!

Regards,
Junior

Ok boys and girls, all of my weekend coverage is online. I’m now working on getting Lou’s pictures sorted and posted. Lou was unable to attend Sunday, therefore no Sunday Part II. Sorry folks!

Here is the link again to the AnimeNEXT 2009 photo gallery.

Also,  who is going to be at AMA?

Waiting here for my turn to shower, so I figured I'd let everyone know not to expect the photos online before Tuesday this week.  I'm still going to be away on travel until then w/ no access to broadband (dial up? gack!). I'll post another entry when they are ready to go!

Junior

Well, the site gremlin struck again. I can't seem to add any further photos to the coppermine gallery.. So, I've gone ahead and installed a second gallery (Gallery 2.0) for the CPAC 2009 pictures. Eventually I'll find something that'll work. Most of it I'm sure is the limited SQL resources that Godaddy is giving me. I may have to go to Gallery 1 that uses a file based way of keeping track of the photos.

Anyway, without further ado, here is the link to CPAC 2009.

Normal weekend coverage online. Lou's photoshoots are still in post processing and will be online soon.

Let's hope that GoDaddy doesn't shut the site down again!

I found out Godaddy had turned off the database because it was over utilizing the shared resources allotted to it. They were kind enough to turn it back on for me to allow some changes to the coppermine setup. I've went through and tried to set it to the minimal setup that I could work with.

Therefore, if it disappears again, it's off to plan two.

On another note, I'm going to start uploading some more pictures shortly.

Well, I'm hoping that it's a fluke and when I wake up tomorrow that the gallery will magically work again..

I called godaddy, and really didn't get anywhere other than a. it's a password issue (I never changed the password since setting up the database), so to humor them I changed it to the exact password it's always been - of course, didn't fix the issue and b. re-install coppermine. Don't get me wrong, godaddy for the most part has been good to me.

It's late, and I've got to get up for work tomorrow.. so I can't really do anything until I get home from work tomorrow.. at the earliest.

I think this re-incarnation of the gallery will use "Gallery 2.0"..

So, anyway, sorry about this folks, pictures are delayed until I get this working again.

Just got home about 30mins ago from the convention. It was a great time! Thanks to everyone that posed for us.

I’m guesstimating the photographs will start going online sometime Monday night and more through out the week. We’ll get them online as fast as possible, but we’ve got several thousand shots to sort through!

…often go awry.

Well, so much for the progress I was making on the back logged convention photos. Today when I came from work, my system hard drive started knocking. Mechanical failure, lovely. If it were just a pooched windows install, or other software issue, not a problem. I’ve been working with computers long enough that I’m decent enough at recovering the data most of the time anyway. However, this time it’s hardware that’s failed. This is beyond me, I don’t have the tools to fix something like that. I call up Ontrack (a data recovery specialist we use at work), they give me a ball park figure of $500 to $2500 to get it back - MAYBE. Since this is a mechanical failure, it’s going to be on the higher end of that quote.

So, the question is. do I say forget it about it, move on (at least the photos on it were backed up elsewhere) or try and scrape up the $$$ for it?

Anyway, right now I’m simply working off a ubuntu live cd. I’m not going to rebuild anything for a while. I’m too ?@!#@ sick of computers currently.
